Empowering communities through learning

In 2003 the Workers' Educational Association Community grid for Learning was created to develop innovative online educational solutions for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and communities.

Three years on our main delivery platform is home to more than 1,000 registered learners, 24,000 unique visitors and over 30 interactive online courses.

120 staff have been trained in e-learning issues, 19 community based ICT initiatives have been supported and 5 own businesses have been set up.

Our courses are delivered in libraries, community centres and city learning centres throughout the North West.
