Learning in Libraries and Community Centres
Subscriptions are available to the www.learners.org web site for libraries, city learning centres and community centres.

Providing your library or centre users with e-learning opportunities means that they can learn at their own pace, in their own time, from a list which you control.

Our courses are interactive, informative and educational - all rolled into one! There's something for everybody, from structured adult learning and basic skills to hobbies and interests.

Our games and quizzes are a fun introduction to e-learning that can encourage taking up more substantial courses

Your users can learn at your centre, facilitated by your own staff or on their own.

Whenever your library's computer suite or ICT centre is open your learners can access courses. Our server is online 24/7 for you and your users to access at whatever time is convenient

A centre subscription or multi-user license will provide your centre with:

  • A great choice of courses on subject matters that arouse people's interest.
  • A customisable homepage that can be branded with your own logos.
  • An updateable Message Board for direct communication between you and your learners.
  • An editable Forum for discussions between you and your learners and amongst learners themselves.
  • 1-to-1 messaging for learners registered through your centre.
  • One-off fee for your first year's subscription.
  • Administration and form filling kept to a minimum.
  • Help with publicity to attract new users, including posters and fliers.
  • Attractive login cards for you to give learners.
  • Your staff trained by us (2hr induction on your premises with administrator's manual).
  • Learner tracking so you can see what's popular with your learners and see how they're progressing plus site logs and stats for reports and funders.
  • Progression to WEA courses in your area via WEA course search facilities.

What people are saying about us

From a report by NIACE on the impact of educational materials developed by us:
"...locally relevant content, which has motivated people to engage with learning and given them the confidence in their ability to move on to other activities."

"...enabling socially excluded adult learners to access innovative e-learning courses

From Subnum Hariff at Bolton Library concerning the 'Whisk Around the Internet' course:
"the course is proving quite popular and we currently have 47 learners registered. We are going to start offering the courses through all 14 libraries in Bolton soon after our successful pilot."

From Vera Owens, Adult Learning Manager with Knowsley Library Services in Merseyside:
"I would like to congratulate you on the range and format of your courses and the ease of navigation. We are currently investigating developing online courses. Is it possible to buy into yours?"
